I gained valuable insights into how supply chain networks function, learning to analyze and optimize processes that support effective movement of goods and services. This class has strengthened my understanding of logistics as a critical component of business strategy and operations.

The course focuses on practical applications, including market analysis, merchandising classifications, cash flow management, store design, assortment planning, and marketing strategies.

This class equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of retail buying processes and assortment planning. Fostering practical skills in merchandising and strategic decision-making for effective retail management.
In this class, I had the privilege to complete assignments such as the replenishment plan, six-month plan, floor plan, purchase order, and style summary, allowing me to apply and enhance my merchandise buying and assortment planning skills within the retail context.

The Internship in Merchandising course is designed to immerse students in a real-world professional environment where they can apply their academic knowledge of merchandising. This course emphasizes experiential learning by requiring students to complete a minimum of 200 hours at a partnering company within the merchandising and fashion industry.

The course emphasized teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking. The class provided me with hands-on experience in styling merchandise, developing floor plans, and leveraging social media for effective branding. Through a mix of lectures, lab work, and real-world assignments, I gained a lot of skills needed to excel in the retail and fashion merchandising industries.

This course empowered me with the essential skills in Adobe Illustrator.
I successfully completed the MFD 307 course, where I gained proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, acquired skills in creating fashion illustrations, developing technical drawings for Tech Packs, utilizing various rendering techniques, manipulating textile repeats, and crafting a cohesive visual identity for fashion design and marketing tools.

This course has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of current fashion industry principles, fostering critical thinking, communication skills, and ethical awareness through case studies, computer applications, and practical merchandising calculations.
I successfully completed the course, demonstrating proficiency in retail and buying principles through quizzes spanning various chapters, engaging in comprehensive case studies, and mastering Excel functionalities such as 3D formulas, sheet protection, data validation, and pivot table creation.

The Portfolio Class was a pivotal experience that helped me prepare for transitioning from academia to the professional world as I approached the end of my junior year.
This course guided me in compiling and showcasing the projects I had completed, refining my portfolio to reflect my skills and creativity. I also focused on developing professional work etiquette and equipping myself with the tools necessary to excel in an internship, laying a strong foundation for my career in the fashion industry.

This class equipped with knowledge and skills to comprehensively analyze trend forecasting, color theory, fabrication decisions, and design principles to develop apparel line collections from concept to consumer with a focus on seasonal assortments and merchandising classifications.
I successfully honed my abilities to utilize a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and strategically plan yearly fashion assortments, culminating in the development of a final group assignment where I applied these skills to create a product line from concept to distribution, fostering a comprehensive understanding of apparel line development processes.

This class showed a comprehensive understanding of apparel development, focusing on garment components, fabric and findings, size and fit considerations, stitches and seams, industry standards, and the crucial role of sourcing in the product development process.
I conducted a shirt evaluation, systematically assessing the appearance and performance of a new shirt through various care and wear scenarios to enhance my understanding of garment components and their impact on apparel development.

The class offered an in-depth exploration of contemporary issues and trends in the fashion industry, providing a dynamic and variable learning experience. Using the textbook Fashion Trends: Analysis and Forecasting (Second Edition) by Bloomsbury, the course focused on understanding and predicting fashion movements and consumer behavior.
This class emphasized critical thinking and practical application, equipping students with tools to analyze current trends and anticipate future shifts. Through discussions, case studies, and forecasting exercises, students gained valuable insights into the ever-evolving landscape of merchandising and fashion design.

The overall objective of this course is to equip students with the essential computer skills, particularly in utilizing Photoshop, to proficiently create, organize, analyze, and communicate information, tailored specifically to the needs of the technology-oriented fashion industry.
I had the privilege to enroll in this class, where I engaged in a comprehensive exploration of computer information systems and Adobe Photoshop applications, such as Selection tools, Text and Paint Brush, Filter Galleries, Mood Board, Trend Board, Color Palette, and various projects aimed at enhancing my proficiency in technology for the fashion industry.
